Upwalker's barn

[Raven]

Raven walked around the old barn that was falling apart. He saw a mouse scurry around and stopped to pick up a seed. Raven got down into the hunter crouch. He stalked forward and jumped. He killed the small mouse in one blow of his paw. "This is the best place to hunt." Raven picks up the mouse and put it in the bit of hay left in the barn.

[Fern]

Fern followed Raven in shortly after, she inhaled deeply her mouth almost watering at the smell of fresh blood. She was slightly surprised by the other smells that surrounded the fresh-kill, mouse, which was pretty familiar, but something else.

[Raven]

Raven walked over to Fern. "OK, Fern, this is the barn. This is the only place in the entire Canyonlands territory that you can catch mice. Do you smell the fresh scent of mice? Oh, it is so delightful."

[Fern]

Fern inhaled again "Yea it is, if this is a Upwalker barn, aren't there, well you know Upwalkers here?"

[Raven]

Raven purred. "No Upwalkers live here anymore. When I was just a kit they left." Raven looked around. "And when I was an apprentice there were rats in here, but they didn't bother with us."

[Fern]

"Rats!?" Fern mewed alarmed "Well I'm kinda small if you haven't noticed about as big as a rat but if it was when you were a apprentice then it must have been a long time ago" Fern looked around some more "Can I hunt now?" she almost pleaded

[Raven]

Raven purred. "You have to learn first. We have different ways to hunt. Mouse isn't what we usually hunt. Rabbit and vole is what we normally hunt, but you must learn how to hunt mouse. Here is where we get food in leaf-bare." Raven looks around and spots a mouse. "Show me what you can do."

[Fern]

Fern crouched down flattening her ears she kept her tail still she stepped lightly putting all her weight on her haunches. She waited a moment more the lept in one bite she proudly carried a dead mouse from her jaw.

[Raven]

"Well done Fern. You really know how to catch mice, but how will you do with rabbits and voles? I don't really know." Raven meows. "Come on, lets go back to the forest. Take your mouse with you." Raven picks up his mouse and walks out of the barn.

[Fern]

Fern nodded, unable to talk through the mouse that was currently in her mouth, happily she followed Raven out of the barn, but not without casting one last look at the barn.

[Raven]

As soon as Raven entered the barn, the scent of mouse came to him. "OK, so the barn is still full of mice." He gets down and stalks up to a mouse. The tribe needed anything he caught. He jumped and landed on the mouse killing it in one swift blow.

[Raven]

Raven caught three more mice and put them with the first one he caught. "I'd better go back now." He meows picking up the mice and walking out of the barn.

[Fern]

Fern snuck up behind him "Hi!"

[Raven]

Raven jumped dropping the mouse. He turned around and looked at Fern. "What was that for. Didn't Wind tell you to respect your leader?"

[Fern]

"Wind tells me alot of things, its hard to remember them all"
