Fern looked around the Dark forest. This was the forest that had given them their name, and she felt proud to be hunting here every day. Her heart pounded as she heard the scuffling of a vole on the forest floor. She quickly got down and she put each paw lightly in front of the other as she moved closer not making a single sound. As she was about to jump another sound came from behind and scared the vole back into its hole. Fern hissed and turned around to see what it was. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the long muzzle of a fox. She could hardly breath as she watched it step out in front of her. She didn't know how to find. She looked around frantically till she made up her mind. Fern turned around and darted away, but she could tell the fox was following her by the thundering of its large paws.
